At Covive we want to make living in your home as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We want that by sharing, living is lighter and with more incredible spaces.
💖 Covive Values and Community
When the contract is signed, we share your files with your future housemates and yours with the new inhabitant. Before entering, all inhabitants must also sign the contract, the general agreement and, if it exists, the wiki agreement. All this with the purpose of reinforcing the main values of the Covive Community: respect, diversity, empathy, belonging, communication and resilience. From these values arise the golden rules that everyone must equally respect.
⚜️ Golden rules
1. Meet, listen and build trust, take time to get to know your housemates. Take the opportunity to make new experiences together and build trust.
2. Be kind and respectful to your housemates, neighbors, and the rest of the Covive community. Respect the private space of your housemates and their property.
3. Always keep the house clean and in order, if something is not in its place, costs you nothing from putting it back in its place.
4. Always be considerate of noise. Every person may have a different tolerance, that's why:
• Avoid loud noises after 11:00 PM (eleven o'clock at night). If any inhabitant of the house wants to use any of the shared areas at night, it is necessary to make as little noise as possible in order not to disturb the inhabitants who are sleeping.
• It's not allowed to have parties, meetings or play music in shared areas such as the kitchen, living room and rooftop terrrace after 11:00 PM (eleven o'clock at night).
• Guests are not allowed in shared areas after 11:00 PM (eleven o'clock at night).
• It is possible to occasionally extend the schedules and accept the presence of guests on Fridays and Saturdays, but it will be required to give notice at least 48 hours in advance using the event request form. The event will be allowed only if there is no written objection from any inhabitant and it is previously approved by the Covive team. Under no circumstances may the event extend beyond 1:00 AM (one o'clock in the morning) with the exception of Casa Pushkin where it must end at 12:00 AM (twelve o'clock in the morning). The inhabitant who has organized the event will be responsible for the event and its guests as well as the fulfillment of all the guidelines mentioned in the article Application for Meetings in the Casas Covive Network. 5. On a larger scale than your home Covive, the planet is your home, together let's take care of it. Try to reduce your consumption of water, electricity, gas and your waste. Try to use only the necessary resources.
6. Be respectful of the health and well-being of your housemates. All houses are a smoke, drug and prohibited substance free environment (see Clause Eleventh of the Contract). At Covive we appeal to the free development of the personality of each inhabitant, however, considering the well-being of the community, it's strictly prohibited to smoke tobacco in closed or open spaces (rooms, kitchen, living room, terrace, etc.) or consume any type of narcotics in houses.
Persons who fail to comply with this clause will be subject to a fine of $2,000 MXN and will be considered as a strike that may result in the termination of the contract.
🚫 Zero tolerance
This general agreement includes a manifesto of zero tolerance for violence that is systematically maintained, such as:
We do not tolerate sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, classist, racist, xenophobic or any other attitudes, acts or comments that attack the physical, mental, spiritual, sexual or identity characteristics of inhabitants and collaborators. As well as physical, sexual, psychological, digital, economic or any other kind of violence. Zero tolerance for violence against women, such as sexual, psychological, physical, digital violence and unsolicited nudity, is a direct reason for contract termination.
🤝 Friction resolution
We know that good coexistence requires communication, empathy, and resilience. When things are not going well, we created a FRICTION RESOLUTION PROTOCOL, which consists of 3 parts: dialogue, conciliation and strikes. We always invite you to resolve conflicts through dialogue (STEP 1). If this is not possible, the Covive team resorts to digital or face-to-face conciliation (STEP 2). If the above does not resolve the frictions, the parties involved have three strikes: in the first, they will be warned that they are breaking a commitment acquired in the conciliation plus an economic fine. In the second, we will apply a second economic fine to the inhabitants involved, previously defined in the first strike. Finally, if the behavior has not been modified, the contract will be terminated immediately based on the Breach Clause (Ninth) of the contract.
We understand that it is important to always feel at home. This is why houses can have a Wiki Agreement. This arises from a collaborative dynamic and contains agreements, commitments, traditions or rituals that will be in force until new ones replace those present.
